Taking hours of research, frantic last-minute online shopping, making my own solar filter using a sheet of polycarbonate and cardboard, ridesharing to Casper, WY, exposing photos of the sun, and getting stuck in some of the worst traffic I've ever seen through one-way rural roads– it was worth it. Seeing the total eclipse and watching as a continuous sunset landscape rolled through every hill surrounding me as a black sun sat above me was one of the most beautiful experiences of my reasonably young life. A lot of stress went into the making of this photo. All the logistics fell into place perfectly at the last minute.
